🇬🇧 English – Translation Greek poet Giorgos Seferis was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1963 “for his eminent lyrical writing, inspired by a deep affinity with the Greek cultural world.” Born in Smyrna in 1900, he experienced exile and also served as a diplomat. His poetry collections, including Mythistorema, Logbook, and Thraces, celebrate Greek identity, the tragedies of the twentieth century, and the power of poetic language.
