🇬🇧 English – Translation
Irish writer and playwright Samuel Beckett was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1969 “for his writing – in new forms for the novel and drama – which in the destitution of modern man acquires its elevation.” Born in Dublin in 1906, he lived in Paris and wrote in both French and English. His most famous works include Waiting for Godot, Endgame, The Unnamable. His pared-down language reveals both the tragic and comic aspects of human existence.
