🇬🇧 English – Translation French poet Saint-John Perse was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1960 “for the soaring flight and evocative imagery that characterize his poetry and reflect the spirit of our age.” Born as Alexis Léger in 1887 in the French West Indies, he was also a diplomat and author of works such as Anabasis, Exile, and Seamarks. His visionary and solemn poetry is a hymn to humanity’s journey through the world and history.
