Nurri – Sunday, October 11: Flavours & Traditions

In Sardinia a beautiful event.

Nurri, a village in the Sarcidano region of Sardinia, is preparing to host a day dedicated to local flavours, traditional products, cultural heritage and the discovery of the area.

The event will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, with a programme running from 10 a.m. until the evening and featuring workshops, tastings, guided walks through the village, talks and live music.

The event is entitled “NURRI – pani, casu e binu a rasu”, with the evocative subtitle “A journey of flavours through the excellence of Nurri.” The event is organised by the Municipality of Nurri and the Pro Loco of Nurri.

The day will begin at 10 a.m. with the official opening of the event. Visitors will be welcomed at the information points and by local producers, while the free tasting routes listed in the programme will get underway.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., visitors can take part in “Flavours, Workshops and Traditions”, a journey dedicated to freshly baked bread, cheeses, honey, simbula fritta, seadas and other local specialities.

The programme will include workshops and demonstrations on bread-making and the feeding of natural sourdough starter, as well as a demonstration of the traditional preparation of Filindeu by agri- chef Annalisa Atzeni. There will also be tastings and pairings of bread with extra virgin olive oil and craft beer, a demonstration of artisanal cheese-making, honey production with a demonstration of honey extraction from the frames, and a tasting of seadas.

At 2 p.m., the second part of the day will begin, entitled “Discovering Nurri”, a route dedicated to exploring the village and its archaeological and natural heritage.

The promotion of Nurri’s archaeological heritage is a recurring feature of events organised in the village, reflecting the richness of the area in archaeological sites and breathtaking landscapes.

From 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., there will be a talk entitled “Eat Well to Live Better – Sarcidano at the Table: Products, Traditions and Tourism”.

The discussion will be moderated by Alessandra Guigoni, cultural anthropologist and expert in traditional food. The panel will bring together numerous experts, producers and representatives from the local area.

The day will continue from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. with “Nurri in Celebration”, an aperitif dedicated to local flavours, accompanied by live music performed by the group Dilliriana.

The street-food stalls will remain open throughout the day, offering a wide selection of local food and wine specialities.

The itinerary will take visitors to several locations around Nurri, including Corso Italia, Piazza Ingrao, Casa Pitzalis, Casa di Zia Maria Carrus, the bakery and the Sardajara Archaeological Park.

The event on October 11 is built around three key elements: local products, discovering the territory and traditions.

From bread- and cheese-making workshops to tastings, from discovering the archaeological heritage to discussions on the relationship between food, territory and tourism, and finally to the evening’s live music, “NURRI – pani, casu e binu a rasu” offers an entire day devoted to the excellence of Nurri.
