Your holiday is probably over, but happiness must stay with us

By Massimo Usai

Not just your holiday but either mine is over.

Whether or not you’ve had a chance to go abroad this year, the likelihood is that any big summer plans you had have passed now, and maybe you don’t have much to look forward to on the horizon. With the summer season drawing to a close, it’s common to feel a sense of nostalgia for the adventures that could have been, the experiences yet to be had, and the places left unexplored. Many people find themselves reflecting on missed opportunities and wondering where the time went, while others might start planning smaller getaways to inject some excitement into their routine, reigniting that spark of wanderlust that the summer typically brings. In this transitional phase, it’s important to embrace the change and think about what future possibilities might await; perhaps a weekend road trip or an impromptu gathering with friends could serve as a delightful substitute for those larger, more elaborate summer plans.

We are one week away to start September and soon short days will come.

You feel like you’re going back to work after a long and challenging period, and you hope that any lockdown measures this year will help provide you with some much-needed relaxation before the bustling Christmas season arrives. In a time where stress and routine have taken their toll, the prospect of a pause offers a glimmer of peace, allowing you to recharge both mentally and physically. Embracing these brief moments of calm can prepare you for the festivities ahead, giving you the energy to fully savor the holiday spirit, reconnect with loved ones, and enjoy the simple pleasures that come with the end of the year.

This picture above send a sensation of freedom, the smell of life, and I want to grab some more time this summer.

I feel the year is passing.

Also, I feel is passing fast and I notice the light is changing and this morning when I woke up at 5 am still dark outside.

Although we are nowhere near those short winter days that mean we arrive at work in the dark and leave in the dark, there is a sense that they are approaching, creeping slowly like shadows in the evening light. The air carries a crispness that hints at the chill to come, and the leaves on the trees have started to change color, signaling the end of autumn. With each passing day, the sun dips lower in the sky, and we find ourselves yearning for the warmth and brightness that seem to fade more quickly. As we navigate our daily routines, there’s an unspoken anticipation of the winter months ahead, filled with cozy sweaters, hot beverages, and the inviting glow of indoor lights that promise comfort against the growing gloom outside.

So I won’t just enjoy this summer day, and the fact that It is pouring rain outside, will not stop me to walk in the street, either if under an umbrella.

My holiday will start in September ;-). Single and childless people have a hard time getting time off during school holidays :-(.

September and June are the best months to be in holiday, in my opinion 🙂

In a way, yes. 🙂
